Open Call for Artists: FAQ’s

1. What is the Open Call for Artists?

The Open Call is an opportunity for artists to submit their work for consideration in a curated exhibition. We are inviting submissions across various media, including painting, sculpture, photography, digital art, video, and more.

2. Is there a submission fee?

Yes, there is a submission fee of £2 per artwork. This fee helps cover administrative costs and is non-refundable.

3. How many artworks can I submit?

You can submit as many artworks as you like. However, each submission will require a separate £2 fee.

4. What is the deadline for submissions?

The deadline for submissions is [TBA]. All entries must be received by 11:59 PM on this date.

5. How do I submit my artwork?

We will tell you where how you can submit your work for each opportunity on our projects pages. Include a high-quality JPEG image of your work (or a movie file if submitting video art), along with your name, artwork title, medium, dimensions, and any additional information you wish to provide.

6. What file formats are accepted?

  • Images: JPEG format with a minimum resolution of 300 DPI.

  • Videos: MP4 or MOV files.

7. Are there any size or duration limitations?

  • Images: The file size should not exceed 10 MB.

  • Videos: The duration should not exceed 5 minutes, and the file size should not exceed 500 MB.

8. What is the selection process?

Due to limited capacity, submissions will be reviewed by a panel of curators, and not all entries will be selected. Selected artists will be notified by preferred contact privately.

9. What happens if my artwork is selected?

If your artwork is selected, you will receive further instructions on how to prepare your work for the exhibition, including delivery and installation details.

10. What are the criteria for selection?

Selection will be based on the quality, originality, and relevance of the submitted work to the theme of the exhibition (if applicable). The decision of the curatorial panel is final.

11. Can I submit collaborative works?

Yes, collaborative works are welcome. Please ensure that all contributing artists are credited and that the submission fee is paid per artwork submitted.

12. Can I submit previously exhibited work?

Yes, previously exhibited works are allowed, as long as they are available for display during the exhibition dates.

13. Is there an age limit for submitting artists?

There is no age limit. Artists of all ages are encouraged to submit.

14. What if I have more questions?

You will receive a confirmation email once your submission and payment have been successfully processed.
